Born on 22 December 1994 in Kandy, Sri Lanka, Dhanith Sri is a singer, composer and songwriter widely regarded as one of the most popular and influential artists in Sri Lanka today. Educated at Vidyartha College and Kingswood College in Kandy, he went on to graduate with a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Peradeniya — before choosing music over engineering and changing the Sri Lankan music landscape forever.

He started playing guitar after his A/Ls, self-taught through friends and the internet. He writes his lyrics and melodies simultaneously — they arrive together, never one before the other. A singer, painter, dancer and storyteller, Dhanith is a complete artist in every sense of the word. He entered the mainstream with his 2018 fusion breakthrough Pandama — and never looked back.
